DUNE & FORESHORE PROTECTION
The Coast Care group assist Council by looking after the foreshore fencing from Lennox Point to the Northern Lake Ainsworth.
Most of the fencing is traditional post & galvanised wire. The galvanised wires are gradually being replaced with flexible white plastic sight wire as it is less prone to damage.
Some treated pine post and rail fencing is surviving though (like the post & wire fencing), it is deteriorating with age.
SURFING SANTA
The Coast Care Group undertake the erection of Surfing Santa at the North entrance to the village each December and take it down in January - see https://lennoxheadheritage.com/surfing-santas/
THE TEAM
Current membership consists of 5 individuals with varying skills.
Working bees are run as required (usually fortnightly) to maintain foreshore fencing in an acceptable state of repair.
Anyone interested in helping out can contact Gary Patterson 0439866337.
